Stephen is a wonderful practitioner. He is empathetic and non judgemental and he "really gets it". Throughout the therapy sessions I've been able to really open up to Stephen about my thoughts and feelings and the therapy has helped me to reflect on events in my life and in the way that I have responded to them. Stephen has helped me to look closely at my relationships and has helped me to come to terms with all of the emotions involved in my late ADHD diagnosis after struggling all my life- Anger, Relief, sadness, grief and acceptance. Stephen is a fantastic therapist. He helped me through a very difficult trauma, making me feel supported in very tangible ways. He offered EMDR to process the trauma, which worked quickly and was remarkably effective. He also encouraged me to look at my own struggles with ADHD and look into a formal diagnosis and treatment. I understand myself so much better after therapy. Stephen brings a lot of scientific rationale to his explanations about behaviour, which really suits me - it feels less like someone reassuring me and more like an expert saying, "you do this because of this" which takes away the shame and embarrassment that can come with ADHD behaviours. Most importantly, Stephen is open, humourous, and direct, qualities that make it easy to open up in turn. It's never easy finding a good therapist,so I'm grateful to have found him. I have been receiving therapy from Steve for 2 years. During that time he has helped me better manage my anxiety and identify the root cause, via an adult ADHD diagnosis.
