Understanding Our Fees

Transparent and Value-Driven ADHD Support

We believe that world-class ADHD care shouldn’t be out of reach. That’s why we’ve built a practice where the investment goes entirely into what matters — the expertise of our practitioners and the quality of your care.

ADHD assessment and treatment is a highly specialised field. The clinicians at The ADHD Specialists bring exceptional levels of training, experience and clinical responsibility, and our fees reflect that. This isn’t general therapy — it’s specialist care delivered by people who have dedicated their careers to understanding ADHD from every angle, including lived experience.

As someone who received my own ADHD diagnosis and has spent 36 years in mental health, I built this practice on a simple principle: expert care, delivered with honesty and without unnecessary overhead. You won’t be paying for a prestigious postcode. You will be getting some of the most experienced ADHD specialists in the country.

Here’s a clear breakdown of what we charge:

ADHD Initial Screening Fee: (50 mins) £130.00

This initial session is a valuable step if you're unsure whether an ADHD assessment is right for you. It provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns and get a preliminary understanding.

ADHD Comprehensive Assessment Fee: (2hrs) £695.00

Full diagnostic assessment by experienced professionals which meets NICE and UKAAN guidelines. Clinical Review: Possibility of commencing medication. Safety Monitoring: On-site Blood Pressure (BP), Pulse checks and ECG. Documentation: Review of your ECG or coordination with your GP if a medical summary/letter is required for safety clearance. Inform GP that you have undergone the ADHD assessment and update of medication (Letter of Diagnosis and Titration Letter). Once you have started on medication, it is advisable to purchase a BP monitor as you will be required to send in BP and pulse readings to us.

Medication Review Appointments: (15 mins) £65.00

A medication review where we will discuss your response to treatment and adjust the dose accordingly. Then we will send you a prescription. That's why we have to charge the fee - it's also about continuous responsibility and observation of progress that a patient will make and also possibly changing the medication to a different type. Consultation still remains within a relational framework where your opinions matter and that you are listened to. We do need monthly observations once medication is initiated, so it would be a good idea to buy a blood pressuring monitoring device.

Shared Care Protocol Agreement Report to transfer/share of care to GP: (30mins) £125.00

Once you have been stabilised on medication for a minimum of 3 months, we facilitate a smooth transition of your care by offering an appointment to discuss your diagnosis and treatment plan with your General Practitioner. This will require a full session where your baseline observations, height, etc., will need to be documented as part of the shared care protocol, which would then be completed in the GP practice. Please make sure that your GP Practice does take on SCA, as not all practices do, in which case you will be referred back to us or be added to the NHS Right to Choose system. (This appointment is usually combined with the final med review before handover)

Cognitive Analytical Therapy Tailored for ADHD: 50mins/£130

Our psychotherapy sessions are specifically designed to address the unique challenges and strengths of individuals with ADHD, utilising approaches like Cognitive Analytic Therapy. EMDR for the treatment of trauma can also be provided.

Combined Medication Review and Psychotherapy Session: 50mins/£130

For integrated care, this option allows you to combine your medication review with a psychotherapy session in a single appointment.
